It’s been awhile since we’ve had a new Spotlight but we’ve been working hard on a new project for all the foodies in the Foothill Communities. In case you missed our last Spotlight we took a peek into the world of VomFASS. VomFASS is the perfect place to stuff those pantries and liquor cabinets with custom-made oils, vinegar, cocktails, wine, and more.
This Spotlight focuses on a hidden gem tucked in the alleyway between 1st St. and 2nd St. in the Claremont Village. Uno Tre Otto is an intimate restaurant that specializes in authentic Italian cuisine with a local flair. The proprietors of Uno Tre Otto hold a strong conviction that food should reflect that hands that made it. Everything is made from scratch in minimal quantities to reduce waste while dishes are in constant flux due to the seasonality and availability of the meat and produce. This farm to table concept approach does not only reinforce the ideals of Uno Tre Otto but also helps to provide the freshest meals one can have in a restaurant.
Uno Tre Otto takes the traditional route with Italian cuisine with coursed meals starting with Antipasti before moving into the Primi, Secondi, and finally the Dolce(dessert). We were fortunate enough to be able to try the Fettunta(above), a homemade slice of toasted bread topped with prosciutto, burrata, Bloomsdale spinach, lemon zest, and extra virgin olive oil. Next up was the Lumaconi(below) composed of homemade Italian sausage, curly kale, herbed breadcrumb, and Parmigiano-Reggiano.
Uno Tre Otto is open for dinner only Tuesday-Saturday from 5Pm-Close with reservations highly encouraged. Stay tuned for our next Spotlight where we focus on their Sunday night speakeasy, featuring specialty cocktails and small bites from 5Pm-Close.
